IT Technician with expertise in Operations and Network

We are looking for an IT Technician to work in the public sector, playing a key role in the organization's daily IT operations. This position suits someone with some years of IT experience seeking to take the next step. You will be responsible for managing daily IT operations, troubleshooting, supporting users, and maintaining and securing network environments including local networks and communications within buildings. The role also involves testing new products, installing and adapting computers and network equipment, managing backups, and administering standard systems like mail and calendar.
Main requirements:
- Completed upper secondary education or equivalent plus four years of relevant work experience, or higher education in IT (e.g. computer engineering) or equivalent plus at least two years of relevant work experience.
- Very good knowledge of computers, peripherals, operating systems, networks, communication, and information security.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office or equivalent.
- Knowledge of ticketing systems (e.g., Easit GO or ServiceNow).
- Fluent communication in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure daily IT operations run smoothly.
- Troubleshoot and assess issues for appropriate resolution.
- Serve as a local IT technician focusing on operation and development of the local network environment and intra-building communication.
- Provide user support and assistance.
- Manage data communication, operation, and data security in large network environments, sometimes globally.
- Test new products and inform users about updates.
- Install and configure computers managing network communication such as routers, servers, and workstations.
- Work to secure IT operations, e.g., install firewalls.
- Install and configure network-related software.
- Be technically responsible for IT equipment in conference rooms, e.g., video meeting systems.
- Manage backup operations.
- Administer standard systems like mail and calendar.
- Administer backup, storage, and application servers.
