Scania is transforming from a leading supplier of trucks, buses, and engines to providing complete and sustainable transport solutions. The IT Network WLAN Engineer will work within Scania's Infrastructure team to develop, implement, and maintain scalable and secure network infrastructure solutions globally. The role requires close collaboration, strong communication skills, and a focus on sustainable technical solutions aligned with Scania IT's guidelines.
Main requirements:
- Experience with IT infrastructure and network solutions
- Ability to develop documented sustainable technical solutions
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work end-to-end in delivering IT solutions
- Expert knowledge of Cisco wireless technologies
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal
Responsibilities:
- Work with global IT solutions within Scania's Infrastructure team
- Drive, develop, implement, and maintain scalable and secure network infrastructure solutions
- Collaborate with other teams to integrate network systems with existing IT infrastructure
- Conduct network audits and implement necessary security measures
- Provide technical support and guidance to team members and clients
- Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides
- Ensure compliance with company-wide architectural principles and guidelines
- Work together with architects and sister teams to ensure resilient and scalable solutions
- Participate in ongoing and new projects related to global IT infrastructure
- Contribute to discussions on new techniques and trends in Scania IT
- Handle incident escalations and liaise with Managed Service suppliers
- Create and update processes
Required hard skills:
- Cisco wireless technologies
- Network protocols such as ISE, WiFi solutions, NAC, LAN, VLAN, VRF, Routing, DNS, DHCP, TCP, UDP
- Network auditing and security measures
- Documentation of network configurations and procedures
Recommended hard skills:
- Experience with Active Directory (AD)
- Firewall management
- Server management both on-premise and cloud solutions
- Programming skills, e.g., Python
