As a Gameplay Engineer at Embark Studios, you will join a small team and collaborate closely with talented developers to craft unique and innovative gameplay experiences. You will work in a creative environment that values fast iteration and experimentation, collaborating closely with designers to create systems and tools that support this approach. Our games are built in Unreal Engine using C++ and Angelscript.
Main requirements:
  • Collaboration with designers and engineers to implement innovative gameplay ideas
  • Prototyping and iterating to shape gameplay experience
  • Apply a gameplay-first approach ensuring technical decisions enhance player experience
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-moving iterative environment
  • Fluency in English
Responsibilities:
  • Work with designers and engineers to bring innovative gameplay ideas to life
  • Prototype, iterate, and help shape the gameplay experience
  • Take a gameplay-first approach, ensuring technical decisions enhance the player experience
Required hard skills:
  • Proficiency with C++ programming
  • Experience with Unreal Engine development (preferred)
  • Understanding of gameplay programming concepts
  • Knowledge of Angelscript (beneficial)

  • Experience working on multiplayer games or shooters
  • Ability to communicate effectively with design teams ('ability to speak design')
