IT Technician with expertise in operations and networks

We are looking for an IT Technician to work in the public sector, responsible for daily IT operations and network management. This role offers the opportunity to develop your skills, take responsibility, and work with real technology in an environment that values your expertise. The position includes tasks such as troubleshooting, user support, managing local and sometimes global network environments, installing and configuring network communication equipment, ensuring IT security, and administering systems like email, backup, and application servers. Candidates should have relevant education and work experience, strong knowledge of computers, peripherals, operating systems, networks, communication, and information security, and be fluent in Swedish and English.
Main requirements:
- High school education or equivalent plus 4 years of relevant work experience, OR higher education in IT (e.g. university engineer with data focus) or equivalent plus at least 2 years of relevant work experience
- Very good knowledge of computers, peripherals, operating systems, networks, communication, and information security
- Basic knowledge of MS Office or equivalent
- Knowledge of ticketing systems (e.g. Easit GO or ServiceNow)
- Fluent communication skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
Responsibilities:
- Ensure daily IT operations function properly
- Troubleshoot and assess the best way to resolve issues
- Serve as a local IT technician working mainly with the operation and development of the local network environment and communication between computers within the same building
- Provide user support
- Manage data communication, operations, and data security in larger network environments, sometimes globally
- Test new products and inform users about updates
- Install and customize computers handling network communication, such as routers, servers, and workstations
- Work on securing IT operations (e.g. installing firewalls)
- Install and configure software adapted to the network
- Technically manage IT equipment in conference rooms, e.g. video meeting systems
- Handle backups
- Administer standard systems like email and calendar
- Administer backup, storage, and application servers
