Tester for Development Team at Kriminalvården

Kriminalvården is expanding and seeks testers to join their IT development team working on the Transport Planning System (TPS), which supports transport administration and ordering of over 120,000 transports annually. The role involves working closely with developers, architects, analysts, UX designers, and scrum masters using agile methods to improve and maintain IT components supporting transport processes. Candidates should have relevant education and recent experience in testing, be familiar with agile practices, and communicate well in Swedish. Knowledge in test automation, programming, and tools like Azure DevOps, Appium, and Playwright are advantages.
Main requirements:
  • Academic degree in a relevant field (computer science, engineering) or equivalent experience deemed relevant by Kriminalvården
  • Recent relevant work experience in software testing or recent relevant degree completion
  • Experience working as a tester in a development team
  • Experience with agile methodologies
  • Experience using Azure DevOps or equivalent tools
  • Fluent Swedish communication skills, both verbal and written
Responsibilities:
  • Participate in development and maintenance of IT components within the Transport Planning System
  • Collaborate daily with team members including system developers, architects, business analysts, UX designers, and scrum masters
  • Work closely with other testers across the agency to develop and strengthen testing practices
  • Contribute to improving working methods aiming for agile planning, development and follow-up
  • Engage with business experts and end users to ensure solutions meet both formal requirements and user needs
Required hard skills:
  • Experience in software testing within development teams
  • Familiarity with agile software development practices
  • Use of Azure DevOps or similar tools for test management
Recommended hard skills:
  • Education, courses or certification in automated testing
  • Experience in test automation
  • Programming understanding and ability to read code
  • Experience with Appium for mobile UI automated testing
  • Experience with Playwright for web application automated testing
  • Skillfully switching between manual and automated testing as appropriate
