Join SMHI as a Technical System Administrator focusing on the digital workplace. Main requirements:
  • Academic education in a relevant field or equivalent experience as assessed by SMHI
  • More than five years of IT experience with at least three years including technical system administration
  • Very good command of Swedish and good command of English, both spoken and written
  • Experience managing and operating acquired systems on both Windows and Linux platforms
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain, operate, support, and develop systems under the administration unit's responsibility, mainly related to document and information management, office software, and collaboration tools
  • Collaborate with the administration unit and larger IT department to manage systems including e-learning platforms, CMS, meeting room technology, client devices, printers, and mobile phones
  • Act as a requirements specifier in procurements relevant to managed systems
  • Ensure effective system administration and license management for software with special needs and fewer users
  • Balance technical requirements with internal user needs and external regulations and legislation
  • Communicate technical information effectively to non-technical users to better understand and serve their needs
Required hard skills:
  • IT system administration skills on Windows and Linux platforms
  • Experience with system operation and maintenance
  • Strong command of Swedish and English languages, both oral and written
Recommended hard skills:
  • Certifications/licenses in automation, Linux, or Windows administration
  • Experience with related digital workplace systems and services such as Exchange, networking, and infrastructure
  • Experience working in government or public sector with understanding of procurement laws like LOU
