IT Governance Manager – Electricity Grid Balancing

Svenska kraftnät is a key player in the energy transition, expanding its IT division to support doubled electricity production and a fossil-free future. As an IT Governance Manager in the balancing object, you lead the IT part of delivery in a complex environment with a central role in the Swedish and Nordic electricity system. You manage the governance plan, prioritize efforts, coordinate resources, and oversee budget and delivery quality. The role involves building cross-functional collaboration, agile delivery structures, and representing Svenska kraftnät in Nordic and European forums.
Main requirements:
  • Experience as IT Governance Manager, IT project manager, or similar delivery role for IT systems.
  • Several years leading IT teams (development, operations, governance, or similar).
  • Experience leading work with agile methods (e.g., Scrum Master, Agile Coach, Team Lead).
  • Experience managing IT budgets and resource/competence planning.
  • Ability to express oneself clearly in spoken and written Swedish and English.
  • Confident and assertive in uncertain situations with good empathy and result orientation.
  • Structured and process-driven work style, able to organize, plan, and complete tasks on time.
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure deliveries align with strategy, goals, budgets, and quality targets.
  • Develop, coordinate, and monitor the governance plan and budget jointly with business governance leaders.
  • Drive the development of the agile delivery organization within the governance object.
  • Ensure staffing, resource allocation, prioritization, and cost control.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with IT architects, system owners, project and security functions.
  • Serve as a link between development, governance, operations, and business internally and with external partners.
  • Represent Svenska kraftnät in Nordic and European collaboration forums.
  • Develop and monitor IT agreements and supplier commitments.
  • Prepare materials and presentations for steering groups and management.
Required hard skills:
  • IT governance and delivery management experience.
  • Team leadership within IT.
  • Agile methodologies and leadership (Scrum, Agile Coaching).
  • IT budget and resource/competence planning.
  • Swedish and English language proficiency.
Recommended hard skills:
  • Experience with ITIL-based processes (incident, problem, change).
