Senior System Engineer Communication

The Swedish Customs IT department in Luleå is northern Sweden's largest IT employer with approximately 320 employees. You will work with the latest technology and participate in development across several exciting operational areas. As a system engineer in communication, you will be part of a qualified team delivering high-quality services in networking, data communication, data center, and firewall administration. The role involves operational tasks as well as continuous improvements, with focus areas including automation, container technology, and Software-Defined Networking (SDN).
Main requirements:
  • Several years of recent experience in networking, data communication, and Linux within the last five years.
  • Fluency in spoken and written Swedish and English.
  • Swedish citizenship is required.
Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain the network, data communication, datacenter, and firewall systems.
  • Collaborate closely with the entire IT operations unit for reliable service delivery.
  • Handle daily operational incidents involving both hardware and software.
  • Drive continuous improvements in IT infrastructure.
  • Monitor developments in technology and industry trends related to automation, container technology, and SDN.
  • Work within firewall and security areas.
  • On-call duty is part of the position.
