National Coordinator for Structures, Road System Department

As a national coordinator for structures at Trafikverket's northern region, you will have overarching responsibility for managing bridges and other bridge-like constructions in the road system across the four northernmost counties. This role involves developing modern and innovative maintenance operations, ensuring well-prepared action strategies are in place and registered in the management system, cooperating closely with regional project leaders, and using lifecycle cost analyses to prioritize maintenance efforts. You will contribute to system and work method improvements, handle administrative tasks including reporting and budgeting, and participate in various investigations and development projects. The position can be based in Luleå, Skellefteå, Sundsvall, Härnösand, or Umeå, with opportunities for hybrid work.
Main requirements:
- University degree of at least 180 credits (120p) in construction or equivalent education and experience
- Several years of relevant experience working with bridges as project leader, assignment manager, or similar leadership role
- Current knowledge in construction contract law and procurement
- Experience working with operational planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial follow-up
- Proficient in Swedish, both oral and written
- Good knowledge of English
- Valid driver's license for passenger car
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement well-structured action strategies for bridges and bridge-like structures in the northern region
- Register and maintain strategies in the management system BATMAN
- Collaborate closely with regional project leaders managing design and construction contracts
- Ensure planning is based on bridge inspections and prioritize using lifecycle cost (LCC) analysis
- Follow up documentation in the BATMAN management system for new and rebuilt structures
- Coordinate with other national coordinators for bridges and tunnels across Sweden
- Identify development and improvement needs for systems and work methods together with internal and external stakeholders
- Contribute to standardized routines and uniform working methods nationwide
- Handle administrative tasks such as writing reports, impact analyses, operational planning, and budgeting
- Participate in investigations and development projects
Required hard skills:
- Knowledge of bridge and infrastructure maintenance management
- Experience with bridge inspection data and lifecycle cost analysis
- Expertise in construction law and procurement processes
- Competence in operational planning and financial management
- Experience with management systems like BATMAN (preferred)
Recommended hard skills:
- Experience working with Trafikverket's IT systems (BATMAN)
