Work Package Lead & Automotive Functional Safety Manager

Lead functional safety activities and Agile execution in automotive embedded software projects, ensuring compliance with ISO 26262 standards and coordinating global teams.
Main requirements:
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in automotive embedded software.
  • At least 5 years experience in functional safety roles.
  • 3+ years experience in Agile delivery leadership.
  • Onsite presence 5 days a week in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Responsibilities:
  • Own and lead Functional Safety (FuSa) Work Package ensuring ISO 26262 Part 6 compliance.
  • Drive safety planning, implementation, and validation across multiple subdomains.
  • Derive software safety requirements from capability and safety manuals.
  • Perform and review safety analyses including FTA, DFA, SWEA/SW-FMEA.
  • Develop and implement safety mechanisms and static code/unit tests.
  • Create and maintain safety documentation and interpret supplier safety manuals.
  • Act as Product Owner in Agile teams, managing feature backlogs, PI planning and sprint execution.
  • Coordinate deliverables and communicate status through Jira dashboards and reports.
  • Coordinate technical and supplier aspects related to safety and software integration.
Required hard skills:
  • Expert knowledge of ISO 26262 Part 2 and Part 6 (software safety lifecycle).
  • Hands-on experience delivering ASIL-B to ASIL-D safety functions.
  • Proficiency in safety analysis techniques: Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Dependent Failure Analysis (DFA), Software Error Effects Analysis (SWEA)/SW-FMEA.
  • Experience with Classic AUTOSAR, Adaptive AUTOSAR (AVAP), and QNX Hypervisor.
  • Knowledge of bootloaders, TI SoCs, safety mechanisms, freedom-from-interference.
  • Strong understanding of HSI-SSR mapping, software integration safety, and design for safety.
  • Experience with Jira, SE Tool, Vector DaVinci, Klocwork, Enterprise Architect.
  • Skills in Visual Studio Code, C#, scripting for PoC/demo/test automation.
  • Experience in Agile frameworks preferably SAFe.
  • Leading cross-functional Agile teams and backlog management.
Recommended hard skills:
  • Experience with delivering safety solutions for L4 autonomous driving systems.
  • Familiarity with safety case generation, safety manual authoring, and system-level risk documentation.
  • Experience with customer-facing reviews, project audits, and compliance readiness.
Soft skills:
  • Strong collaboration skills, especially across distributed Sweden–India teams.
  • Effective communicator and coordinator.
