Technical Specialist / System Technician – Computer Platforms & Hardware
Workplace: Göteborg, Sverige
Expires: June 8, 2025
The position can be based in Gothenburg, Halmstad or Linköping – your home base will be your location. Working as a hardware engineer focusing on networks, integration or technical verification? Or perhaps as an IT or system technician with strong interest in specifying requirements, testing and developing hardware solutions in complex system environments? Or are you a system engineer with a focus on IT systems or computer platforms? Then you will recognize what we do. At Saab Surveillance's Computer Platform HW section, you will work with skilled colleagues to develop, specify and verify hardware solutions for operator stations and information systems – in some of Sweden's most high-tech radar and surveillance systems. Here you contribute your technical expertise in a culture based on trust, drive and collaboration. Saab is a leading defense and security company with a mission to help nations protect their populations and contribute to safety for people and societies. With 22,000 talented employees, Saab develops technology and solutions for a safer and more sustainable world. The Surveillance business area offers effective solutions for surveillance and decision support, and systems to detect and protect against various threats. The product portfolio includes airborne, land-based and maritime radar systems, signal intelligence and self-protection systems, command systems, as well as systems for maritime and air traffic management. As a hardware specialist in computer platforms, you will be key in specifying, procuring and verifying hardware products in the Information Systems area. You work with solutions covering entire operator stations, computers, network equipment, screens, and other peripherals. You work closely with system designers, purchasers and suppliers, and sometimes are onsite with system integrators in Linköping, Gothenburg and Halmstad providing technical support and troubleshooting. This is a role combining technology, collaboration and problem solving - in an environment characterized by trust, drive, expertise and diversity. We believe you have a technical background – perhaps as technician, specialist or engineer – and have built your competence through work experience or education. To succeed you have experience working with IT- and hardware-related systems, are communicative, collaborate easily with both technical and non-technical roles, have a flexible mindset able to switch between operational work and technical analysis, thrive in an open work environment where knowledge sharing is natural, and are curious with interest in understanding the whole in technical systems. Meritorious experience includes development of computers, networks and peripherals; technical supplier contacts especially focusing on requirements and collaboration; documentation of technical solutions and version control; verification, testing and troubleshooting of hardware components or IT systems. The position requires security clearance according to the Swedish Security Protection Act. The recruitment is in cooperation with Skill. The role is a consultancy assignment from 2025-09-01 to 2026-02-28. Selection is ongoing and the position may be filled before the last application date.
