Technical Operations Manager

As a Technical Operations Manager at the Police Authority, you will contribute to developing intelligence service systems that provide optimal IT support for detecting, preventing, and hindering serious organized crime. You will work in a multidisciplinary IT team responsible for new development, management, and support of digital tools and applications related to intelligence systems. The role involves acting as an expert on various products, supporting product owners and project leaders with system evolution and lifecycle, and collaborating with other technical experts, especially within IT operations and infrastructure.
Main requirements:
- Relevant post-secondary education in IT or equivalent acquired competence deemed equivalent by the Police Authority
- Recent relevant experience in a complex IT environment, in roles such as application specialist, technical project leader, or technical system administrator
- Strong technical competence particularly with Windows Server and system integrations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Swedish and good proficiency in English
- Swedish citizenship is required
Responsibilities:
- Act as expert for both self-developed and commercial standard products related to intelligence systems
- Support product owners and project managers regarding further development and lifecycle management of IT solutions
- Serve as escalation point for troubleshooting and operational issues
- Collaborate closely with other technical experts especially within IT operations and infrastructure
- Proactively collaborate with business for needs analysis
- Drive configuration and customization of standard systems/applications
- Perform development and maintenance tasks related to integrations, troubleshooting, corrections, and documentation
- Coordinate with suppliers on maintenance, improvements, and further development activities
- Conduct tests and ensure deliveries from subcontractors meet requirements
Required hard skills:
- Post-secondary IT education or equivalent experience
- Experience managing IT systems in complex environments
- Technical expertise in Windows Server environments
- Skills in system integrations
- Strong troubleshooting and system lifecycle management skills
Recommended hard skills:
- Experience with IT system deployments and updates in Windows environments
- Competence in Linux system environments and managing updates and changes there
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, preferably with Octopus Deploy or similar tools
- Network infrastructure knowledge
Soft skills:
- Ability to independently plan, structure and drive assignments
- Strong stakeholder management and effective communication skills
- Proactive mindset with focus on organizational goals and ability to prioritize appropriately
