A technical support role focusing on assisting and maintaining a global network of ADS-B radio receivers used in flight tracking, working closely with a community of volunteers and aviation enthusiasts.
Main requirements:
  • Providing technical support to community members hosting ADS-B radio receivers (hardware and software)
  • Monitoring returned receivers and performing repairs
  • Documenting software bugs and coordinating with development teams
  • Engaging with data sharers via online forums to provide support and advice
  • Advocating for improvements in ADS-B hardware and software to enhance data sharing experience
  • Working onsite at Flightradar24 office in Stockholm, Sweden
Responsibilities:
  • Help the community by providing tech support for ADS-B receivers
  • Monitor and repair returned receivers
  • Report software bugs to dev team
  • Provide tips and support to keep receivers operational and maximize coverage
  • Participate in online forums and share expertise
  • Advocate for better hardware and software solutions
Required hard skills:
  • Experience with Linux operating systems
  • Hands-on experience with Raspberry Pi devices
  • Good written and spoken English communication skills
Recommended hard skills:
  • Experience setting up and configuring radio receiver equipment, ideally ADS-B receivers
  • Hand-soldering skills
  • Background in customer support
  • Experience managing or keeping online forums active and friendly
