Project Manager at the Welfare Administration

The Welfare Administration with about 2500 employees is looking for two project managers to lead IT and digitalization projects. These include transitioning from one operational system to another and leading digitalization initiatives aligned with the 2025-2028 digital transformation plan. The role involves collaborating with system managers, business developers, and IT strategists to ensure effective IT support for users and citizens. The ideal candidate has practical project leadership experience, good communication skills in Swedish, and is structured and goal-oriented, contributing actively to shaping the future of care and welfare services.
Main requirements:
  • University or college education or relevant work experience assessed sufficient by employer
  • Practical experience in project management is essential
  • Experience with quality assurance is preferred
  • Strong communicative and pedagogical skills
  • Ability to express oneself clearly in spoken and written Swedish
  • Structured and able to follow up and complete tasks
  • Motivated by clearly defined goals and capable of turning them into concrete actions
  • Able to reprioritize work based on changing conditions or needs
  • Capable of working at both operational and strategic levels and seeing the overall organizational perspective
Responsibilities:
  • Lead projects involving transitions from one operational system to another
  • Manage digitalization projects aligned with the Welfare Board’s digital transformation plan 2025–2028
  • Follow IT implementation processes and project models
  • Coordinate all digitalization projects within the Welfare Administration
  • Work closely with system managers, business developers, and municipal IT strategists
  • Ensure functional IT support for users and citizens using Welfare Administration services
Required hard skills:

  • Knowledge of Finnish and/or Sami languages due to municipal bilingual administrative areas
