Responsible for the development and implementation of on-board processing systems for small satellites at OHB Sweden. This role involves designing digital system engineering in data handling and related on-board applications, specifying technical requirements, conducting market research on hardware and architectures, producing detailed design documentation, and planning verification and testing procedures. The position requires interaction with international project partners and customers, presenting formal design and test reports in English.
Main requirements:
  • Master of Science or PhD in Electrical Engineering
  • More than 7 years of experience in digital design, embedded systems, and FPGA development, validation, and testing
  • Experience with high-speed data transfer techniques (SerDes, PCI, SATA, etc.)
  • Experience in SoC FPGA development and third-party IP-Core implementation
  • Proficiency in VHDL, FPGA synthesis, and place-and-route flow
  • Experience with Soft Processor implementation, memory EDAC, DDR, ADC/DAC
  • Embedded software and hardware driver experience
  • Experience in electronic board design
  • Ability to generate, read, and understand complex electrical schematics and datasheets
  • Good electrical understanding
  • Familiarity with hardware handling and testing
  • Fluent in English
Responsibilities:
  • Design and digital system engineering in data handling and on-board applications
  • Define technical specifications for on-board processing systems including data formats and processing algorithms
  • Collect and analyze data processing requirements for satellite imagers and other payloads
  • Conduct market research to identify suitable on-board processing hardware and architectures
  • Develop comprehensive digital architecture documentation including block diagrams and flowcharts
  • Create detailed design documents for each on-board processing system element
  • Develop Design, Development, and Verification Plan (DDVP) for on-board processing units
  • Define software development plan for modelling the on-board processing subsystem
  • Design test procedures and setups and document them with drawings and schematics
  • Support planning and budgeting for future programs and project proposals
Required hard skills:
  • Electrical Engineering Degree (MSc or PhD)
