Network Technician

The Network Technician at the Swedish Coastguard works with innovation and maintenance in network infrastructure with a high focus on security, contributing actively to Sweden's total defense.
Main requirements:
  • Relevant post-secondary education or equivalent work experience.
  • Several years of experience as a network technician with knowledge of Cisco routing, switching, wireless, and security.
  • Experience implementing security solutions such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, and network segmentation.
  • Swedish citizenship.
  • Driver's license for passenger car.
  • Successful drug test and security clearance according to the Swedish Security Protection Act.
  • Ability to express oneself well in both spoken and written Swedish and English.
Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain network infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot, optimize, and develop network solutions.
  • Participate in strategic IT projects and change initiatives.
  • Ensure network solutions meet operational needs and security requirements.
  • Use expertise to ensure effective and secure data communication regardless of location.
Required hard skills:
  • Cisco routing and switching technologies.
  • Wireless network technologies.
  • Network security solutions including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and network segmentation.
Recommended hard skills:
  • Experience with satellite communication.
  • Experience in IoT/OT.
  • Experience with automation in networking.
  • Cisco certifications such as CCNP or CCIE.
