Network Technician – Data Communication and Infrastructure

Region Uppsala is seeking a solution-oriented and technically interested Network Technician to strengthen their Datacenter group within the IT department. The role focuses on data communication, routing, firewalls, DNS, and infrastructure projects in a competent and well-functioning team supporting healthcare, research, and regional operations.
Main requirements:
  • Experience working with data communication and network infrastructure in large IT environments
  • Good knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLAN, firewalls, and DNS
  • Experience in troubleshooting and monitoring networks (e.g., SNMP, syslog, NetFlow)
  • Ability to work structured and document solutions
  • Good spoken and written Swedish
Responsibilities:
  • Operation and development of Region Uppsala's network infrastructure
  • Troubleshooting, monitoring, and optimization of data communication and networks
  • Managing routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers and DNS
  • Configuration and administration of network components in both centralized and distributed environments
  • Participation in infrastructure, security, and capacity improvement projects
  • Collaboration with other technicians in the Datacenter group and IT functions
  • Documentation, standardization, and development of routines and working methods
Required hard skills:
  • Data communication and network infrastructure management

  • Network troubleshooting and monitoring using tools like SNMP, syslog, NetFlow
  • Documentation skills
