Mechanical Design Engineer role in Production Hardware Development team at Axis Communications, focused on designing, developing, verifying, and delivering unique production and test fixtures for production lines in a cross-functional environment.
Main requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant experience in mechanical design
  • Experience with 3D CAD, preferably Creo (Pro/Engineer)
  • Knowledge and experience in 3D printing technologies
  • Hands-on practical experience
  • Experience designing fixtures with moving mechanics and aluminum parts for CNC machining
  • Very good communication skills in English and Swedish
Responsibilities:
  • Design high precision production equipment with a variety from moving mechanics to fixed holders, optimized for simplicity, ergonomics, and human interface
  • Use 3D-CAD system Creo and PDM system Windchill for design work
  • Work with in-house 3D printing technologies for prototypes and additive manufacturing
  • Prototype and verify designs
  • Participate in R&D projects focused on simplicity, scalability, repeatability, and quality for optimal production setup
  • Manage stakeholders, plan work, communicate changes and risks openly
  • Collaborate with development team for automated production equipment
  • Work closely with suppliers for fixture/equipment manufacturing and verification before production use
  • Travel approximately 5-15 days per year to contract manufacturers
