Linux Test Engineer

As a Linux Test Engineer at Ericsson AB, you will ensure the reliability and performance of Linux-based solutions by developing and executing test strategies, designing automated tests, and collaborating with development teams to maintain world-class software quality.
Main requirements:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Proven experience as a Test Engineer or similar role
- Hands-on experience with Yocto and/or embedded systems development
- Solid understanding of test automation and CI/CD pipelines
- Proficiency in programming languages common in open-source projects
- Familiarity with testing frameworks like ptest (Yocto), LTP, and RT-Tests
- Experience with benchmarking tools such as UnixBench, iPerf, and sysbench
- Knowledge of automated open-source test frameworks across various environments
- Experience with bug tracking tools like Bugzilla and Jira
- Understanding of open-source community norms, especially within the Linux kernel ecosystem
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Responsibilities:
- Developing and executing test strategies tailored to project needs
- Creating detailed test plans and test cases based on specifications
- Running automated tests, analyzing results, and reporting defects
- Collaborating closely with developers to understand code changes and resolve issues
- Generating clear and actionable test reports for project stakeholders
- Monitoring test performance, identifying bottlenecks, and optimizing scripts
- Investigating complex issues, identifying root causes, and proposing solutions
- Supporting troubleshooting efforts across teams
