Linux Test Engineer

As a Linux Test Engineer at Ericsson AB, you will ensure the reliability and performance of Linux-based solutions by developing and executing test strategies, designing automated tests, and collaborating with development teams to maintain world-class software quality.
Main requirements:
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience as a Test Engineer or similar role
  • Hands-on experience with Yocto and/or embedded systems development
  • Solid understanding of test automation and CI/CD pipelines
  • Proficiency in programming languages common in open-source projects
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks like ptest (Yocto), LTP, and RT-Tests
  • Experience with benchmarking tools such as UnixBench, iPerf, and sysbench
  • Knowledge of automated open-source test frameworks across various environments
  • Experience with bug tracking tools like Bugzilla and Jira
  • Understanding of open-source community norms, especially within the Linux kernel ecosystem
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
Responsibilities:
  • Developing and executing test strategies tailored to project needs
  • Creating detailed test plans and test cases based on specifications
  • Running automated tests, analyzing results, and reporting defects
  • Collaborating closely with developers to understand code changes and resolve issues
  • Generating clear and actionable test reports for project stakeholders
  • Monitoring test performance, identifying bottlenecks, and optimizing scripts
  • Investigating complex issues, identifying root causes, and proposing solutions
  • Supporting troubleshooting efforts across teams
