IT Technician with expertise in operations and networks

We are looking for an IT Technician to work in the public sector, responsible for daily IT operations and network management. This role is ideal for someone with several years of IT experience who wants to take the next step, offering responsibilities along with support and professional development. Tasks include troubleshooting, managing local network environments, user support, data communication, IT security, installation and customization of network equipment and software, and administration of standard systems such as email, backup, and storage servers.
Main requirements:
  • Completed upper secondary education or equivalent with 4 years of relevant work experience, OR a university degree in IT or equivalent with at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong knowledge of computers, peripherals, operating systems, networks, communication, and information security.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with issue management systems such as Easit GO or ServiceNow.
  • Fluent communication skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure smooth daily IT operations.
  • Troubleshoot and determine best solutions for technical issues.
  • Act as local IT technician focusing on operation and development of the local network environment and computer communications within the same building.
  • Provide support and assistance to users.
  • Manage data communication, operations and data security in larger network environments, sometimes globally.
  • Test new products and inform users about updates.
  • Install and customize network communication devices such as routers, servers, and workstations.
  • Work on securing IT operations (e.g., installing firewalls).
  • Install software and adapt it to the network.
  • Be technically responsible for IT equipment in conference rooms, including video meeting systems.
  • Handle backup management.
  • Administer standard systems like mail and calendar.
  • Administer backup, storage, and application servers.
