IT Solutions Architect

As an IT Solutions Architect at Region Dalarna, you will play a key role in developing digital solutions for public transport and contribute to a sustainable IT landscape across the region. You will work both strategically and operationally to create long-term sustainable IT systems that meet national and regional requirements and strategies. The role involves collaboration with various stakeholders and supports organizational changes such as procurement and implementation of new solutions.
Main requirements:
  • University degree at least at bachelor's level in relevant fields such as Computer Science, Systems Science, or IT, or equivalent knowledge acquired otherwise
  • At least 10 years of professional experience in IT-related fields
  • Minimum 2 years experience working as a solutions architect in large or complex organizations
  • Good proficiency in Swedish and English
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to express clearly in Swedish, both spoken and written
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure development, acquisition, and changes in current and future IT systems are sustainable and compliant with applicable strategies and requirements
  • Describe and map the IT landscape
  • Improve methods and working practices for long-term quality enhancement
  • Support the organization during changes such as procurement and implementation of new solutions
  • Work with requirements specification, principles, and provide active advice and perspectives
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders at various levels in business and IT, as well as with internal and external suppliers
Required hard skills:
  • Experience in solutions architecture in larger or complex organizations
  • Knowledge and experience in IT system development
  • Familiarity with IT governance frameworks such as ITIL
  • Experience with procurement of IT systems
  • Fluency in Swedish and English
Recommended hard skills:
  • Deep knowledge in multiple architecture domains
  • Experience in business operations, project management, maintenance, and/or development perspectives
  • Completion of architecture-related courses or certifications such as TOGAF or IASA
  • Experience designing solutions involving multiple system components from a holistic perspective
  • Experience using modeling languages and tools like Archimate, UML, BPMN, Sparx Enterprise Architect
  • Good technical knowledge across several domains
  • Experience within public transport or other public sector areas
  • Familiarity with PM3 methodology
