IT Technician with expertise in Operations and Networking

We are looking for an IT Technician to work within the public sector, responsible for daily IT operations and network management. This role offers the opportunity to develop professionally while working with real technology challenges, providing support and maintenance for local network environments.
Main requirements:
  • High school education or equivalent plus four years of relevant work experience, or
  • Higher education in IT (e.g. university engineer with computer specialization) or equivalent plus at least two years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong knowledge of computers, peripherals, operating systems, networks, communication, and information security.
  • Basic skills in MS Office or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of ticketing systems (e.g. Easit GO or ServiceNow).
  • Fluent communication in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure daily IT operations function smoothly.
  • Troubleshoot and assess how best to resolve faults.
  • Serve as a local IT technician primarily working with operations and development of the authority's local network environment and communication within the same building.
  • Provide user support and assistance.
  • Handle data communication, operations, and data security in large network environments, sometimes globally.
  • Test new products and inform users about updates.
  • Install and customize computers managing network communication, such as routers, servers, and workstations.
  • Work to secure IT operations, for example by installing firewalls.
  • Install and adapt software to the network.
  • Be technically responsible for IT equipment in conference rooms, e.g. video meeting systems.
  • Manage backup operations.
  • Administer standard systems such as email and calendar.
  • Administer backup, storage, and application servers.
