Function Owner / Function Developer - Suspension Control

Position at Volvo Group focusing on developing suspension control systems for trucks and buses within a global, agile team environment. Responsibilities include specification, development, testing, and supporting advanced control functions with strong collaboration and technical expertise in embedded systems.
Main requirements:
  • Full product ownership of suspension control system including requirement specification and customer delivery
  • Development of new suspension control functions and customer features
  • Testing in vehicles and virtual/real environments
  • Contribution to global roadmap for future functions and features
  • Fault tracing and troubleshooting in vehicles
  • Supporting internal customers, aftermarket, production, and engaging with end customers
Responsibilities:
  • Specify and review function and software requirements
  • Develop and implement new features and software updates using C programming language
  • Tune functionality, troubleshoot and perform hands-on testing in trucks
  • Support functional safety and cybersecurity initiatives
  • Participate actively in agile team processes delivering short-term results and shaping long-term strategies
Required hard skills:
  • Embedded real-time system development
  • Strong knowledge in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Control Engineering, and Software Development
  • Proficiency in C programming language
  • Experience with CANalyzer, Matlab (Simulink), rapid prototyping and systems development principles
Recommended hard skills:
  • Experience with GIT, Vector DaVinci, CANoe & CANalyzer, SystemWeaver (SE-TOOL)
  • Knowledge of Volvo development tools
  • Understanding of functional safety and cybersecurity standards
  • Proficiency in C++ programming
  • Valid category C driving license
