Join Hitachi Energy AB in Västerås, Sweden, as an experienced Failure Analysis Engineer within the Supplier Quality team. You will work closely with development teams to perform root cause analysis of relay protection (IED) hardware and components, handling both internal and customer-initiated cases. The role involves defect management, test equipment programming, and continuous process improvements to enhance quality and reduce lead times. Fluency in English is required; Swedish is a plus.
Main requirements:
  • Master's degree or higher in hardware engineering or equivalent
  • Technical background in electronics development and/or industrial electronics
  • Technical knowledge on Relion series product is mandatory
  • Experience with JTag, LabView, CAN or Keysight VEE is qualifying
  • Fluent in spoken and written English; Swedish fluency beneficial
  • Strong teamwork, initiative, and leadership skills
Responsibilities:
  • Perform in-depth design-level root cause analysis of Relion relay protection (IED) hardware and partially software
  • Identify expertise needed for support in failure analysis
  • Manage defect and failure statistics analysis
  • Manage and improve test equipment and test setup programming
  • Document analysis results including root cause analysis reports (RCA) and 8D reports
  • Improve test methods and FA team test equipment
  • Continuously improve the failure analysis process to reduce lead time
