Join Region Dalarna for a meaningful role where you can make a difference. We seek a BI Architect to help build and strengthen our new Information-Driven Development function within the Digital Development and Innovation section. This role involves leading BI architecture, working strategically and operationally, and designing future data platforms using modern Microsoft technologies in a hybrid environment. You'll work in an engaged team with modern tools, within Medical Technology and IT, supporting Region Dalarna's operations and citizens.
Main requirements:
  • Several years of experience in BI architecture, design, and development of data platforms
  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft's BI stack (SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, Power BI)
  • Experience designing complex data models, preferably following Kimball methodology
  • Ability to work both strategically and operationally from needs analysis to development and documentation
  • Relevant academic education or equivalent experience
  • Proficient in spoken and written Swedish
Responsibilities:
  • Lead design and platform development for decision support systems
  • Support developers within the team
  • Engage in strategic planning and operational execution
  • Become part of the central architecture team in the region
  • Influence technology choices and working methods for data and monitoring across the organization
Required hard skills:
  • Microsoft BI platform technologies: SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, Power BI
  • Data modeling and architecture design
Recommended hard skills:
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric or other cloud-based BI solutions
  • Knowledge of data catalogs, data products, and data governance
  • Programming skills in .NET/C# or Python
