Techster Solutions is in an exciting growth phase and is seeking a Functional Safety Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience to strengthen their team. Main requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in functional safety engineering, preferably in the automotive industry
- Strong understanding of ISO 26262 with emphasis on ASIL D
- Proven experience in functional safety analyses including FMEA and FTA
- Strong knowledge of automotive electronics, embedded systems, and safety-critical systems
- Experience with safety verification and validation techniques
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
- Certified Functional Safety Engineer (ISO 26262) or similar certification preferred
- Project management experience in functional safety projects is a plus
Responsibilities:
- Lead functional safety activities adhering to ISO 26262 ASIL D for Zone Controller products
- Define and develop functional safety concepts and technical safety requirements through development lifecycle
- Perform hazard analysis, risk assessment, and fault-tree analysis
- Create safety plans, verification and validation strategies to ensure compliance
- Collaborate with hardware and software teams for safety mechanisms integration
- Conduct safety audits, reviews, and assessments to validate safety integrity
- Lead failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) and fault-tree analysis (FTA)
- Ensure traceability of safety requirements from concept to production
- Prepare and present safety documentation to stakeholders and regulatory bodies
- Serve as primary contact for functional safety-related issues with stakeholders and suppliers
- Stay updated on automotive safety trends and emerging standards
- Provide training and guidance on functional safety best practices
Required hard skills:
- Functional safety engineering experience (5+ years)
- Knowledge of ISO 26262 ASIL D
- Functional safety analysis methods (FMEA, FTA)
- Automotive electronics and embedded systems expertise
- Safety verification and validation techniques
- Certification in Functional Safety Engineer (ISO 26262)
