Doctoral Research Fellowship (PhD) at Ranplan Group AB on TeraWireless Project

A doctoral research fellowship position at Ranplan Group AB, part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network TeraWireless project, focusing on developing open-access THz channel measurement datasets and ray tracing simulators. The candidate will conduct research towards a PhD at University of Piraeus Research Center, Greece, working full-time in Stockholm, Sweden, with opportunities for secondment and collaboration across Europe.
Main requirements:
  • Undergraduate and postgraduate Master's degree in information engineering, computer science, electronic or electrical engineering, mathematics, electromagnetics, or physical sciences.
  • Solid background in communication theory, wireless communications, electromagnetic theory, and wireless propagation.
  • High proficiency in Matlab or similar programming tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Highly proficient in English language.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and deadline management.
  • Logical thinking, solution creation, and informed decision-making abilities.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively in research and to travel across Europe.
  • Candidate must not hold a doctoral degree at time of recruitment.
  • Candidate must not have resided or worked in Sweden (country of recruiting organisation) for more than 12 months in the past 3 years, with exceptions for short stays and national service.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct postgraduate doctoral research aligned with project goals.
  • Collaborate with academic supervisors to align with the overall TeraWireless project objectives.
  • Present and publish research in academic and non-academic venues.
  • Attend academic and non-academic conferences, events, seminars, and training.
  • Participate in supervisory meetings and program activities.
  • Undertake secondment to partner institutions as required.
  • Prepare research progress reports for funding bodies.
  • Contribute to project outreach and public engagement activities.
Required hard skills:
