Digital System Architect

We are looking for a new System Architect to join our team at Hitachi Energy in Sweden! This role is responsible for the design, realization, and maintenance of systems in HVDC Digital R&D. The System Architect will guide development teams, prepare technical designs, and implement innovations to ensure sustainable, secure, and scalable systems. The position requires strong software architecture, systems engineering experience, and leadership skills in a technology-driven and sustainability-focused environment.
Main requirements:
- Proven track record in software architecture and systems engineering with experience designing and implementing complex solutions at scale
- Deep understanding of software development lifecycles, agile methodologies, and DevOps practices
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and mentoring junior engineers
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles and implementation strategies for enterprise systems
- Ability to balance technical excellence with business requirements and resource constraints
- Familiarity with Hitachi Energy's technology stack or similar industrial/energy sector technologies
Responsibilities:
- Guide and oversee development teams in creating sustainable, secure, and scalable systems integrating software and hardware
- Prepare and maintain high-quality technical designs and documentation
- Define setups for operations, engineering, maintenance, and support, and continuously improve them
- Stay updated with industry trends and implement tools and methodologies to enhance system performance, security, and reliability
- Collaborate with project managers, product managers, and line managers to define project scopes, timelines, and deliverables
- Present and explain complex technical concepts to clients, stakeholders, and non-technical team members
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement by encouraging knowledge sharing, code reviews, workshops, and feedback mechanisms
