Join Hitachi Energy in Västerås as a Control System Performance Engineering Expert in the Power Quality Global Center of Competence. Specializing in FACTS technology, the role focuses on ensuring dynamic performance of control solutions for power converters according to customer grid code requirements.
Main requirements:
  • M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or similar.
  • At least twenty years of experience in power systems and control system analysis.
  • Expertise in control theories of high-power electronic converters.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with PSCAD, RTDS, and Hidraw or equivalent tools.
  • Experience developing complex control functions in Hitachi Energy’s MACH control systems or equivalent C/C++ platforms.
  • Fluent communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams, assume responsibility, and good communication skills.
  • Curious mindset with fast learning and development abilities.
Responsibilities:
  • Support development of base control system solutions and new functionalities for FACTS converters.
  • Responsible for control system performance throughout project execution from start to commissioning.
  • Conduct PSCAD and RTDS simulation studies to verify control dynamic performance.
  • Participate in verification tests during Factory Acceptance and Commissioning Tests.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally, train colleagues, and provide technical support for projects.
  • Support tenders, delivery projects, and R&D activities involving control system dynamic performance.
  • Create and present reports of verification investigations to customers.
  • Understand customer needs via specifications and meetings.
  • Coordinate and communicate with involved disciplines and connect with R&D activities.
  • Engage frequently with international engineering disciplines, project managers, customers, and other Hitachi Energy units.
