Windows Server Engineer

Bankgirot is seeking a Windows Server Engineer to join a growing part of the organization in Stockholm. The role involves being a key part of building a new 'Greenfield' infrastructure platform to secure future payment solutions in Sweden. The engineer will work with modern technologies, focus on security and availability, manage Windows Server environments, collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers, and help shape technical guidelines and standards.
Main requirements:
  • 2–4 years experience with Windows Server in operation and maintenance roles
  • Experience with installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and updating Windows Server
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, including GPOs, security policies, and domain structure
  • Familiarity with IT environments requiring high availability, stability, and security
  • Experience working according to ITIL framework for handling incidents, changes, and requests
  • Interest and experience in automation and scripting to improve efficiency and quality
  • Experience implementing security policies and managing network security with compliance focus
  • Relevant academic background or equivalent work experience in IT/infrastructure
  • Strong analytical and solution-oriented skills
  • Good communication skills to clearly explain technical and business perspectives
  • Proficiency in Swedish and English
  • Willingness to undergo security clearance according to the Swedish Security Protection Act
Responsibilities:
  • Participate actively in building Bankgirot's new infrastructure environment using modern technology with focus on security and availability
  • Operate, maintain, and further develop Windows Server environments in both existing and new platforms
  • Ensure infrastructure meets business needs and SLAs/OLAs are adhered to
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and external suppliers in daily operations as well as projects and change work
  • Provide expert knowledge in Windows Server, Active Directory, and automation to streamline processes
  • Help shape technical guidelines, standards, and processes for the future platform
  • Participate in incident, problem, and change management as well as in creating technical documentation
