As a Technical Investigator focusing on secret coercive measures, you will play a key role in developing regulations and ensuring effective crime prevention while safeguarding personal privacy.
Main requirements:
  • University-level education in computer science/IT, system science, IT/information security, or relevant equivalent knowledge through work experience.
  • Several years of professional experience in telecom, networking, or related ICT fields relevant to PTS.
  • Good proficiency in spoken and written Swedish.
Responsibilities:
  • Analyze, develop, and follow up on issues related to data retention and lawful interception (LI).
  • Conduct supervision, reviews, and contribute to regulatory development and technical analyses.
  • Monitor technical developments and evaluate their impact on legislation and security.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues from diverse backgrounds including law, engineering, and social sciences.
  • Engage in close cooperation with other authorities, organizations, and companies representing PTS in external contexts.
  • Work may include topics and tasks within trusted services as well.
Required hard skills:
  • Technical expertise in telecom, networking, or ICT relevant to data retention and lawful interception.
  • Experience in working with regulatory supervision and technical standard documentation (e.g., ETSI, 3GPP).
  • Understanding of network protocols and architectures such as IP, VoIP, 2-5G Core, and RAN.
  • Knowledge of encryption usage in networks and services.
Recommended hard skills:
  • Experience implementing and managing LI solutions or work experience from manufacturers, mobile operators, or law enforcement.
  • Experience in cybersecurity or information security operations and follow-up.
  • Experience collaborating with law enforcement authorities.
