The Simulator Technician works with various simulator systems used for training and exercises at Livgardet's Simulator Section, responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance, modifications, support during training, and ensuring high equipment availability and standards.
Main requirements:
  • Swedish citizenship
  • Completed military basic training
  • Ability to climb on top of armored vehicles in the field and handle heavy lifting to solve simulator technical problems
  • Structured working style combined with flexibility ensuring timely and proper task completion
  • Good oral and written communication skills in Swedish and basic English
  • Basic computer skills with Office programs
  • B driver's license
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on simulator systems
  • Modify and rebuild simulator equipment based on established guidelines
  • Serve as a contact point towards rear maintenance level
  • Support Simulator Officer during training on simulator systems
  • Ensure high availability and quality standards of equipment
  • Work both indoors in workshop and outdoors in field locations, including units
  • Undertake business trips, sometimes with overnight stays under simple conditions and possible deployments abroad
  • Provide operational support during exercises, which may include inconvenient working hours
  • Respond flexibly and service-oriented to emerging needs from units
Required hard skills:

Recommended hard skills:
  • Experience with laser simulators in the Swedish Armed Forces
  • Military basic training focused on ground combat

  • Good skills and knowledge of Swedish Armed Forces support systems and supply chains, especially system PRIO
  • Forklift license B2
