Join Wolt Development Sverige AB as a Senior Backend Engineer focused on Kotlin. You will build and maintain scalable backend systems for Wolt’s internal merchant tools, collaborating closely with business teams and guiding architectural decisions to simplify workflows and create impactful solutions for merchants.
Main requirements:
  • 6+ years of experience building reliable, scalable backend systems in production.
  • Hands-on experience with Kotlin or strong motivation to learn it quickly.
  • Familiarity with microservice architectures, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure (AWS).
  • Experience with internal platforms, tools, or CRM systems, especially for ops or customer-facing teams.
  • Strong engineering practices including testing, observability, CI/CD.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and time zones in a distributed setup.
  • Ownership mindset and mentoring abilities, focusing on impactful solutions.
Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop scalable backend services integrating CRM with Wolt's internal systems.
  • Own services end-to-end: architecture, deployment, monitoring, maintenance.
  • Collaborate closely with business teams to understand needs and deliver impactful features.
  • Guide architectural decisions within the team and broader Merchant group.
  • Ensure quality through solid testing, observability, and tooling.
  • Support a culture of curiosity, experimentation, and continuous learning.
