Security Guard (Skyddsvakt)

Security guards work with surveillance of critical societal facilities where maximum security is required. The position requires either a basic security guard training plus a shortened security guard course, or a full security guard training. A security guard approval from the County Administrative Board is also required. High demands are placed on personal qualities, experience working in public environments, and legal knowledge.
Main requirements:
  • Valid security guard training not older than five years (civil or military)
  • Completed secondary education with satisfactory results in Swedish and English
  • Minimum age 18 before starting assignment
  • Good spoken and written Swedish
  • Driving license B
  • Swedish citizenship
  • Good physical and mental health
  • Clean criminal record, drug-free, and orderly financial situation
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct patrolling and stationary surveillance maintaining high security levels at the site
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients
  • Make sound decisions independently when required
  • Undergo tests before and during employment to handle physical and mental challenges
  • Comply with strict security and confidentiality requirements
Required hard skills:
  • Security guard training with approval from County Administrative Board
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations in security
  • Driving license category B
Recommended hard skills:
  • Several years of experience in private sector security or equivalent experience in authorities
  • Additional supplementary training related to security tasks
