Postdoctoral Researcher in Signal and Image Analysis

FOI, the Swedish Defence Research Agency, is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to join their Sensor Informatics research area, focusing on applied research for defense and security applications involving sensor data analysis from surveillance systems. The researcher will develop algorithms and systems in image analysis, computer vision, signal processing, and deep learning, conducting experimental validation and contributing to projects supporting Sweden's total defense capabilities.
Main requirements:
  • Doctorate or licentiate degree in image processing, computer vision, artificial intelligence, or related field considered appropriate by FOI
  • Excellent proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written
  • Knowledge in image processing
  • Knowledge in image analysis and computer vision
  • Knowledge in machine learning and deep learning
  • Knowledge in signal processing
  • Citizenship in Sweden (required for security clearance)
Responsibilities:
  • Plan and lead research activities
  • Conduct research on algorithms and methods for sensor data analysis
  • Design experiments and prototypes to validate algorithms and systems
  • Analyze and evaluate results from experiments and simulations
  • Document, report, and publish research findings in scientific journals and conferences
  • Translate research results into domain-specific applications for various clients
  • Eventually take on project management tasks
