Nowhere Networks is seeking a solution-oriented and technically driven Network Engineer passionate about IP networks, Layer 2/3, and complex troubleshooting. This role involves designing, operating, and optimizing advanced network environments in dynamic settings such as ships, masts, and proprietary radio systems. The candidate will take ownership to ensure stable and fast connections for clients' vessels, working hands-on with everything from design to configuration and operations in a small, passionate team with significant influence.
Main requirements:
  • At least three years of practical experience with IP networks.
  • Strong understanding of IP, TCP/UDP, Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with switched networks and VLANs.
  • Good Linux experience.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex network issues.
  • Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
  • Valid driver's license.
Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement network solutions in marine and distributed environments.
  • Configure switches, routers, and other network components.
  • Troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 issues in customer environments and internal systems.
  • Manage VLANs, routing, IP planning, and network structuring.
  • Work on monitoring, optimization, and documentation of the network.
  • Collaborate with the development team on network-related integration needs.
  • Help shape future network architecture and standards within the company.
Required hard skills:
  • IP networking protocols and technologies (TCP/UDP, Layer 2/3).
  • Switched networks and VLAN configuration.
  • Linux operating system proficiency.
  • Network troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
