Join Aira's Energy Optimisation team to develop and maintain machine learning models that personalize home energy management, helping reduce energy bills and CO2 emissions. This full-time, in-house role combines technical expertise with a product mindset to create impactful, understandable energy optimization solutions for customers.
Main requirements:
  • Background in machine learning with experience in reinforcement learning, neural networks, or relevant personalization and optimization methods
  • Strong coding skills with experience building ML systems in production, preferably using Python or Java
  • Experience working with large-scale data pipelines, orchestration tools like Airflow, stream processing tools like Kafka, and cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS
  • Ability to take initiative, accountability, and lead or contribute to complex technical discussions
  • Motivation from impact and customer-centric product development
  • Willingness to work primarily from the Stockholm office
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and productionize energy optimization models balancing tariffs, weather, and customer preferences
  • Apply mathematical and ML knowledge to solve real-world energy problems
  • Collaborate with product designers, software, and hardware engineers to co-create user-loved features
  • Conduct rapid testing of new approaches, learn from results, and scale successful solutions
Required hard skills:
  • Machine Learning theory and application, including reinforcement learning and neural networks
  • Programming in Python, Java, or similar languages
  • Experience with ML libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn (beneficial)
  • Large-scale data pipeline management and orchestration (e.g., Airflow)
  • Stream processing (e.g., Kafka)
  • Cloud platform usage (e.g., GCP, AWS)
