Expires: August 31, 2025
Lead the design and development of floating vertical-axis wind turbine systems, focusing on mechanical and system design of offshore components from concept to production. Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate structural, electrical, and hydraulic subsystems for next-generation offshore energy solutions.
Main requirements:
  • Approximately 10 years of experience in mechanical or product design, preferably within offshore, energy, marine, or related industries
  • Master's degree in mechanical engineering, power electric engineering, naval architecture, construction or similar relevant field
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with yard or manufacturing processes
  • Working experience in relevant field related to offshore or energy sectors
Responsibilities:
  • Lead mechanical and system design of complete floating wind turbine components from early concepts to production-ready designs
  • Own the design process including 3D modeling, detailed drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), tolerance analysis, system integration, and design reviews
  • Design large steel offshore structures such as floaters, towers, frames, and support systems
  • Design machined parts with tolerance and corrosion resistance for marine environments
  • Integrate and interface electrical systems, hydraulics, drivetrains, and control systems
  • Ensure functional performance, safety, reliability, and manufacturability in offshore conditions
  • Collaborate closely with suppliers, manufacturing partners, and multidisciplinary team members (structural engineers, electrical engineers, hydrodynamic analysts etc.)
  • Take a systems engineering approach to ensure all subsystems fit and function together
  • Focus on subsystems like drive train, brake system, cooling system, joining interface (bolts/welds), and manufacturing selection

  • Mechanical and product design experience for offshore or energy sectors
  • 3D CAD proficiency (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as ABS, DNV, IEC, ISO, ASTM
  • Experience designing large welded steel structures
  • Expertise in machining and tolerance-critical parts
  • Understanding of mechanical standards, tolerancing (GD&T), and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles
  • Experience working with technical specifications, test plans, and production ramp-up
Recommended hard skills:
  • Electrical and hydraulic system integration
