Join Nexer Engineering Process AB as an Engine Test Engineer to work on next-generation automotive powertrain development. In this role, you will conduct engine testing and validation, manage and develop test rigs, plan and execute tests, evaluate data, troubleshoot faults, and collaborate with development teams to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards. This position involves technical leadership in engine development projects within the heavy-duty engine sector.
Main requirements:
- Experience with engine testing, emissions testing, or powertrain development
- Hands-on experience in building and managing test rigs, programming test sequences, and calibrating equipment
- Proficiency with test equipment from AVL, Horiba, or similar manufacturers
- Solid understanding of test protocols, measurement systems, and fault tracing techniques
- Knowledge of automotive engine systems including fuel, emissions, combustion, and exhaust aftertreatment
- Familiarity with software such as ATI Vision, MATLAB, Simulink, CATIA V5 or similar
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or related field
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
Responsibilities:
- Conduct and manage engine performance tests including emissions control, fuel consumption, efficiency, and thermal management
- Build, configure, and maintain test rigs with specialized equipment such as gas measurement and sensors
- Develop, program, and execute test sequences for engines, catalytic performance, HV components and transmissions
- Evaluate test data and perform quality control, trace faults in engines and test equipment
- Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, and controls engineering teams to optimize test conditions and system integrity
- Ensure adherence to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards, LEAN methods, and process safety during testing and rig maintenance
