IT Technician with Service Responsibility for IT Workplace

Motala Municipality in Östergötland is recruiting an IT technician responsible for managing and developing IT workplace services. The role involves both operational and strategic tasks related to IT workplace environments, collaborating with various parts of the organization to support a better user experience, security, and cost-efficiency. The candidate will be part of a growing team focused on user-centric IT solutions and first-class service.
Main requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in IT or equivalent experience.
  • Good knowledge of hardware and IT workplace technologies.
  • Experience with vendor contacts, procurement, and contract management.
  • Strong communication skills in Swedish, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work structured, independently, and take responsibility.
  • Class B driving license.
Responsibilities:
  • Overall responsibility for IT workplace: develop and maintain IT environment focused on user experience, security, and cost-efficiency.
  • Act as a strategic partner to internal units by understanding needs and providing technical advice that supports business goals.
  • Drive improvement activities including planning and implementation of computer replacements.
  • Manage vendor and contract relations, including procurement and budget planning to ensure quality and cost control.
  • Develop governance documents and processes for efficient and secure IT operations.
  • System administration of the IT unit’s case management system to develop efficient workflows.
Required hard skills:

  • Good written and oral Swedish communication skills.
  • Structured and responsible working methods.
  • IT service management knowledge (ITIL experience considered a merit).
