IT Technician with expertise in operations and networks

An IT Technician role in the public sector responsible for daily IT operations, network environment maintenance, user support, and ensuring secure and efficient IT systems. Main requirements:
  • Upper secondary education or equivalent and four years of relevant work experience, or higher education in IT with at least two years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of computers, peripherals, operating systems, networks, communications, and information security.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of issue tracking systems (e.g. Easit GO or ServiceNow).
  • Fluent communication skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure daily IT operations run smoothly.
  • Troubleshoot and assess issues to determine best course of action.
  • Serve as a local IT technician responsible for the local network environment and communication within the same building.
  • Provide user support and assistance.
  • Manage data communication, operations, and security in larger network environments, sometimes globally.
  • Test new products and inform users about updates.
  • Install and configure network communication equipment such as routers, servers, and workstations.
  • Work on IT security (e.g., install firewalls).
  • Install and adapt software to the network.
  • Provide technical responsibility for IT equipment in conference areas, such as video meeting systems.
  • Manage backups.
  • Administer standard systems like email and calendar.
  • Administer backup, storage, and application servers.
Required hard skills:
