IT Project Manager for a Company in the Defense Industry

We are looking for a structured and proactive change leader to work in a complex and international IT environment, influencing the management and development of one of Sweden's largest application portfolios. The role focuses on understanding where applications are used within the business, the processes they support, and how they integrate overall, rather than deep technical details. You will work closely with a senior colleague but hold significant responsibility and authority to advance the work, requiring strong analytical skills and practical drive to engage with various parts of the organization.
Main requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in IT, technology, management, or similar field
  • Experience from large and preferably international organizations
  • Background in project management, change management, or similar roles bridging IT and business
  • Basic understanding of IT concepts such as cloud, on-premises, ITSM, or application management
  • Strong communication skills and experience managing diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to work structured, drive work independently, and follow up on set goals
Responsibilities:
  • Map and develop an application portfolio covering approximately 15,000 systems
  • Understand business areas where applications are used and the processes they support
  • Drive initiatives to increase transparency and support for business through application overview
  • Manage mapping of newly acquired tools into the application structure
  • Analyze and clarify the purpose of overlapping applications (e.g. multiple CAD tools)
  • Collaborate with various organizational units to advance work and create trust
Required hard skills:
  • IT knowledge including cloud, on-premise environments, IT Service Management, and application management
  • Project and change management experience in IT and business interface
  • Data handling skills using databases and Excel
