Infrastructure Architect

We are looking for a committed and driven IT Architect focusing on IT infrastructure to help shape the future digital research landscape. You will play a central role in the continued digitalization at Karolinska Institutet by optimizing, developing, and implementing current and future digital environments and enterprise solutions, ensuring a flexible and future-proof IT environment that meets increasing organizational needs securely and efficiently.
Main requirements:
  • Experience as an IT architect focusing on infrastructure.
  • Relevant higher education in IT or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to communicate well in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
  • Experience working with large-scale enterprise environments including cloud-based, hybrid, and local IT solutions.
  • Experience working in infrastructure projects.
  • Ability to keep updated on IT and technology developments.
  • Strong understanding of information and IT security.
  • Knowledge/experience in server and application operations in hyperconverged environments.
  • Familiarity with products such as Active Directory, Windows/Linux, M365/Azure, AWS, Shibboleth, MSSQL, MariaDB, Docker (swarm), Kubernetes, VMWare, Proxmox, NetApp.
Responsibilities:
  • Optimize, develop and implement current and future digital environments and enterprise systems.
  • Advise ongoing and future projects aiming to centralize IT environments within the university.
  • Work closely with product owners, IT service owners, and IT operations to ensure IT solutions meet organizational needs and requirements.
  • Create decision bases for further development and introduction of central IT services.
  • Participate actively in national networks within Swedish higher education institutions.
  • Contribute to the design of target images, strategies, and roadmaps for KI's IT landscape.
