Work on analyzing and deconstructing hardware systems and integrated circuits to support Sweden's security and integrity within a knowledge-intensive environment at FRA.
Main requirements:
  • Academic degree in Electrical Engineering, Technical Physics, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience through work.
  • Work experience in a lab environment.
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both verbal and written.
Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and deconstruct hardware systems and integrated circuits from security and vulnerability perspectives.
  • Hardware deconstruction and exploitation of embedded systems by analyzing architecture, electronics, interfaces, and software to identify vulnerabilities.
  • Preprocessing and preparation of integrated circuits to examine their structure and develop methods for functional analysis.
  • Development and implementation of methods, tools, and interfaces for data extraction from integrated circuits found in computers and embedded systems.
  • Documentation of methods and reporting of analysis results.
  • Conduct research, development, and knowledge gathering.
  • Travel may occur domestically and internationally.
Required hard skills:
  • Lab work experience.
  • Good skills in electronic measurement instruments like oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic and protocol analyzers, LabVIEW, or complex test systems with control and measurement.
  • Programming skills in at least one: C, C++, Python, Rust, or assembler.
Recommended hard skills:
  • Academic education within chemistry.
  • Experience in design or debugging of digital electronics, preferably at the silicon level, including buses, communication protocols, and interfaces.
  • Experience working with instruments such as FIB, SEM, laser/plasma etchers, sputtering or similar.
  • Experience in the semiconductor industry.
