As a Design for Production Engineer at Axis Communications AB in Lund, you will ensure our latest innovations are producible at high volumes by developing assembly-friendly products and efficient production processes. You will work closely within cross-functional teams including Mechanics, Electronics Production, Software, Supply Chain, and Electronic Manufacturing Services to bring Axis products to market. The role involves participating in workshops, defining assembly and production processes, coordinating fixture design and delivery, and visiting manufacturing sites for process verification. Main requirements:
  • Degree in mechanical or industrial engineering
  • Demonstrated interest in production
  • Proficient English communication skills
Responsibilities:
  • Initiate workshops and discussions focused on design for assembly
  • Define and co-create product assembly and full production processes with manufacturing partners
  • Set design requirements for complex assembly and test fixtures, ensure manufacturing to specs and timely delivery
  • Visit manufacturing sites during pre-production builds to verify production processes (travel up to 30 days/year)
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively within cross-functional teams including Mechanics, Electronics Production, Software, Supply Chain, and EMS
Required hard skills:

  • Experience with 3D CAD programs and Product Data Management (PDM) systems
