As a Data Scientist at the Swedish Security Service (Säkerhetspolisen), you will leverage your passion for data to protect Sweden's security and democracy. You will work with advanced data science and AI technologies on some of Sweden's most complex and critical data sets, contributing to intelligent systems that combine analysis with security. You will collaborate with experts across five key operational areas and play a key role in developing a new data platform using state-of-the-art data management and AI techniques. This full-time, on-site role is based at the headquarters in Solna, Sweden, and requires Swedish citizenship due to security clearance.
Main requirements:
- Academic degree preferably in computer science, informatics, mathematics, linguistics, statistics, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence.
- Strong communication skills in both Swedish and English, written and spoken.
- Experience working with large datasets and advanced analysis.
- Several years of experience in data science.
- Swedish citizenship due to security classification requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Work scientifically with state-of-the-art data science and AI technologies alongside developers and experts.
- Develop intelligent systems and analyze complex data relating to five core operational areas: counterintelligence, constitutional protection, counterterrorism, personal protection, and security protection.
- Be a key contributor in designing and implementing a new data platform for storing and analyzing data from various sources using latest data handling and AI methods.
- Collaborate with other data science and AI experts to develop methods and processes that automate and optimize data management.
- Adapt methods and tools to accommodate diverse and evolving challenges and data types.
Required hard skills:
- Academic background in relevant fields (computer science, mathematics, linguistics, statistics or equivalent).
- Machine learning and AI knowledge.
- Experience with large-scale data processing and advanced analytics.
- Multiple years of practical data science experience.
- Fluent in Swedish and English (written and oral).
Recommended hard skills:
- Experience in system development, machine learning algorithms, and data visualization.
- Applied knowledge in language technology, image and video analysis, or geodata analytics.
- Up-to-date understanding of modern AI technologies, such as Large Language Models (LLM) and multimodal models.
- Deep expertise in financial data analytics, telecom data, IT forensic data, or intelligence analysis.
