Data Architect with responsibility for data platform and analytics architecture

We are looking for an experienced and strategic Data Architect to drive the development of our data platform and solution architecture for analytics applications at Chalmers University of Technology. The role involves designing, establishing, and evolving a modern, cloud-based data platform that supports research, education, and administration.
Main requirements:
- Extensive experience in data architecture and solution architecture for analytics environments
- Practical knowledge of modern data platforms such as Azure Data Lake, Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery
- Good knowledge of cloud-based solutions and platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud)
- Experience in data modeling, database management, ETL/ELT, API integrations, and data governance
- Experience with both traditional BI and advanced analytics including AI and machine learning
- Ability to lead technically complex initiatives and communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Academic education in data, IT or equivalent professional experience
- High school Swedish grade or certification equivalent to C1 according to CEFR
Responsibilities:
- Design and implementation of a cost-effective, scalable, cloud-based data platform for Chalmers and its further development to meet new and future needs
- Implementation of a modern decision support system to enable Chalmers to become more data-driven
- Responsibility for solution architecture and development of analytics applications (BI, AI, advanced data analysis)
- Evaluation and implementation of tools for data storage, ETL/ELT, metadata management and data governance
- Consulting in data and analytics projects, leading technical working meetings and workshops
