C# Developer

The University of Gothenburg is seeking a C# developer with several years of experience to work in a dynamic development environment contributing to the university's technical platforms. The role primarily focuses on in-house developed applications within the account and authorization system GUkonto, a C#-based account management solution for the university. The position offers opportunities to engage with other technology areas such as SharePoint, Java, or Python depending on candidate background and interest. The work environment is agile, collaborative, and encourages personal development and broad technological work including both backend and frontend development with a strong emphasis on IT security.
Main requirements:
- Several years of documented experience (about 3 years) in C# development within the last five years.
- Documented experience (about 1 year) of working across the full development lifecycle in the last five years (requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment).
- Post-secondary or academic education in IT with focus on programming and development or equivalent experience.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in Swedish and English.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an agile environment.
- Interest in modern development environments and programming languages.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain and further develop C# system solutions focusing on the GU-konto application.
- Work closely with developers, architects, and technical specialists.
- Engage in the whole development chain from needs analysis to implementation and testing.
- Contribute to both backend and frontend development.
- Ensure maintenance of applications within GU-konto according to IT development practices and routines.
- Possibly participate in projects involving SharePoint, Java, or Python depending on profile and competence.
Required hard skills:
- C# development with proven experience using Visual Studio and Git or equivalent tools.
- Understanding of full software development lifecycle.
- Experience working in agile development teams.
Recommended hard skills:
- Experience with SharePoint or Microsoft 365 related development.
- Frontend development experience (e.g., React, TypeScript).
- Knowledge and experience in IT and information security.
- Experience with Java or Python.
- Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and automation.
- Experience with container solutions such as OpenShift or Kubernetes.
- Experience in AI-related development or data-driven solutions.
