The role involves supporting researchers in materials science to execute AI projects, including data organization, resource application, machine learning implementation, and model development. The position is part of a national effort within the EuroHPC-funded European AI Factory network, collaborating closely with academic and industrial users to advance AI solutions, training, and innovation.
Main requirements:
- PhD with work involving machine learning in materials science
- Experience with large-scale computations and/or organizing large datasets in materials science
- Proven ability to independently author scientific publications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to persuasively convey the significance and engagement of complex scientific projects to diverse stakeholders
Responsibilities:
- Assist materials science researchers in conducting concrete AI projects including data compilation, organization, and sharing
- Support researchers in applying for resource grants
- Conduct machine learning and develop finalized predictive models
- Organize joint training activities for AI within materials science
- Collaborate with other infrastructures in Sweden and the EU
- Participate in the European working group for AI in materials science
Required hard skills:

- Developing original AI models within materials science
- Experience at multinational level with international organizations and funders
