Nowhere Networks is seeking a solution-oriented and tech-driven Network Engineer with a passion for IP networks, Layer 2/3, and complex troubleshooting. This role involves designing, operating, and optimizing advanced network environments in dynamic settings such as ships, towers, and proprietary radio systems. The position requires ownership to ensure stable and fast connectivity for customers' vessels. The engineer will be part of a small, passionate team with significant influence and opportunities for creative problem-solving and hands-on work from design to configuration and operation.
Main requirements:
- Minimum three years practical experience working with IP networks.
- Strong understanding of IP, TCP/UDP, Layer 2 & Layer 3 technologies.
- Experience with switched networks and VLAN configuration.
- Good experience with Linux.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues.
- Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
- Driver's license.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement network solutions in maritime and distributed environments.
- Configure switches, routers, and other network components.
- Troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 related issues in customer environments and internal systems.
- Manage VLANs, routing, IP planning, and network structuring.
- Monitor, optimize, and document network performance.
- Collaborate with development teams on network-related integration needs.
- Participate in shaping future network architecture and standards within the company.
